When I was asked to shoot a wedding at the Mission Boathouse in Beverly, I was elated. That has been a go-to-spot for our family since opening a few years back for its food, its views, and its ambience. It offers gorgeous, nautical interiors, sweeping views of the Beverly Port Marina, and a huge waterfront patio. Melanie and Matt tied the knot this June at the Boathouse surrounded by family and friends and maybe the most fun group of bridesmaids ever. We started the day at the Salem Waterfront Hotel, which could not have been more perfectly decorated to fit their wedding colors and nautical vibe.
Melanie and Matt's day was full of unique ideas and details that made it one-of-a-kind. They opted for an ice cream bar instead of cake (yum!), chose bridesmaid's' dresses with prints that -- and I know everyone always says this but this time it's true -- they can actually wear again, and wrote individual thank you notes to each and every guest waiting at their dinner table.
Some favorite moments for me were the first look (Matt's face!) and their private vows, the impromptu riff-off in the van on the way to the Salem Willows for formals, and the non-stop dance floor.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day.
